You’re The Ocean is a dear remembrance of letting go and moving forward. It’s about being cleansed of the burdens holding us back, but finding value in their experience. Despite being raised in a low-income family of 7, my parents worked tirelessly to encourage and provide musical training. My formal learning started at age 9 with violin lessons and continued until age 15 when life drastically changed. Engulfed in the confines of religion, music was no longer explored or pursued until many years later. From the devastating effects of religious indoctrination, music became a form of trauma therapy and expression.
